Does anyone else vastly prefer the MP4-12C to the new McLarens?

I just wish they’d stuck with this more classically gorgeous design instead of trying to be edgy with putting the P1 face on everything. Nevermind that it’s now pretty difficult to tell the P1 from the “normal” McLarens.

I can tell the P1 from the lesser models, what’s now difficult is telling the lesser models apart.

I do, though to air an unpopular opinion, I thought the P1 was a really ugly looking thing. Still do, so yes I do prefer the MP4-12C to everything McLaren is making right now, it at least looks nice.

Yep. Although I do prefer the 675LT to the 12C, I like the 12c much more than the 650S

No; I have internally debated that but if it came down to it I’d take one of the newer ones. I like my cars with a dose of outrageous, though.

Me included. The new corporate face with the squinty headlights is not my favorite.

MP4-12C is a bit of a cumbersome name, even if it does have internal context to McLaren’s testing and construction regimen, but the 650S/LT, and 570 just don’t look quite as good, and P1 is a bit odd compared to them all, and is not the gestalt shift that the epitome was... the legendary F1.

It was quite difficult to tell the models apart before but now it is very easy to know the difference of the P1 from the 650S and 675LT. It’s all in the hips when you look at the cars.

yep. I think the 12C is the best looking of the post-F1 McLarens. The recent batch isn’t necessarily ugly, but they look unusual and sort of ungraceful. I can appreciate the P1’s function-over-form design, but it’s not beautiful like the 918 and LaFerrari imo.

I prefer the 650S fascia (aside from the partially blocked-off grille), though I’ll admit that I have trouble telling the 650S, 675LT and P1 apart at first glance. The grin on the MP4-12C looks so-so to me, though I do like the (Photoshopped?) front fascia on the MP4-12C that you’ve posted.
